Team Messaging
Navigate to Messages for real-time team communication. Requires the Chat feature to be enabled in Settings.
- Channels: Conversations are organized into channels. Job channels are auto-created when jobs are created, keeping project discussions linked to the right job.
- Create Channels: Navigate to Messages > Channels to create custom channels. Set a name, description, and add members.
- Real-Time Chat: Messages are delivered in real time via WebSocket. No page refresh needed.
- File Sharing: Upload and share files directly in chat. Files shared in job channels are automatically saved to the job's file library.
- Reactions: React to messages with emoji for quick acknowledgments.
- Pinned Messages: Pin important messages to the top of a channel for easy reference.
- Edit / Delete: Edit your own messages or delete them from the conversation.
- Mute Channels: Mute noisy channels to stop receiving notifications.
- AI Summaries: Generate AI-powered conversation summaries to catch up on channels you've been away from.
- Automatic Translation: Messages are translated into each reader's language automatically, so a mixed-language crew can each type in the language they're comfortable with and still understand one another. Each employee's language is set on their record in Employee Management (11 languages supported); set it and their chat is automatically translated both ways.
- Employee Chat: Employees see their own messaging interface on the Company Home page (if Chat is enabled). They can participate in channels they're a member of, react, mention teammates with @, and tap Summarize to catch up.
Permissions: Admins see and manage all company channels and membership. Employees see only the channels they belong to and can read and post there; an employee must have Chat access enabled on their record to be added to job channels.
